Life is a bowl of cherries.
Wild black cherries
presenting the perfect marriage of bitter meets sweet
on a hot summer day
Tasting so juicy, so ripe.
Trying not to get stains on crisp white linen.
Attempting to come up with a
more sophisticated way
to dispose of the pits
rather than simply spit
them in your hand
napkin
or right back in the bowl.
